The Diabetic Lifestyle: Daily Blood Sugar (06-05-2009)

Today my blood sugar is 110..sigh...that's what happens when you miss a day taking your meds.

Diagnosed August 15, 2008

I was recently diagnosed with diabetes in August of 2008. At first, it was a shock. I was full of dread and despair. I couldn't sleep at night, which made me tired at all times of the day. I seem to have more questions than answers, but that soon changed.

First thing I did was join a diabetic chat room. then I started reading..anything and everything I could find online. I lost weight and tried to eat better. Educating myself was the best thing I could've done. Fast forward a year later, and here I am, I can finally sleep well again.

I hope to find others that can share similar stories. I had no idea at the time, but there truly is a family of support and love out there for not only those with diabetes but for the families of those afflicted. If I have learned anything from this...it's don't be afraid and you don't need to do this alone.
